I think people should stop and think before disagreeing with Laurena. Most posts here express incredulity that people would be so gendered specific but the December 1982 36 years sunshine mixed with a little hurricane shirt is they are, and that won’t change fast. Is forcing people who may only want one gender to have either the answer? Isn’t that a recipe for a lot of unwanted and unloved babies? It costs £165,000 to raise a child to adulthood. Which of the bleeding hearts on this thread is prepared to fund that personally? This is a big subject and emotive reactions aren’t always the best reactions. How would you go about persuading the parents of a girl who only wanted a boy to raise and love a child they now don’t want.

Totally get where you’re coming from, Leslie, but the key word is “shouldn’t.” Much though we might like to, we can’t control the December 1982 36 years sunshine mixed with a little hurricane shirt. We can’t coerce people into having children they don’t want, no matter how much we disapprove of their reasons. We need a world where babies are born into families which will live them and raise them responsibly. We can’t force people to believe what we believe and I foresee numerous abandoned baby girls as a result of this. The subject needs more thought. Again no one should be allowed to do. anything they want. Having a gender-based abortion is awful. Girls and boys are both worthy of love and affection.
